J&J- Los Angeles Zen meets southern roots Wedding

Jessi and John came to me via a mutual friend: To all my friends out there- I LOVE IT WHEN THIS HAPPENS. Because they’re usually “My people” and what I mean by my “my people” are those who are kind, stylish and full of heart. And when I meet with “My People” - MAGIC HAPPENS.

Keep reading to see how these elements came together to make a truly gorgeous wedding day:

Kindness

First off these to got married at the Zen Buddhist Center in Los Angeles. in a ceremony that was officiated by the center’s Roshi. The spiritual ritual and tenderness of the ceremony gave their day a depth you don’t always find. Beyond their ties to the Zen Center- these two also both have Southern roots and lemme tell you that Southern charm and hospitality is REAL.

Stylish

The couple, along with Carly Rae Weddings just nailed the style.- Minimalist, but still with some fun flare, while still being timeless! Not an easy feat to pull off that balance. The Normandie Hotel was the perfect hip, but classic space for the bride to get ready at. The bride stunned in a custom Mia Danilowicz dress. Her hair was made to look effortlessly cool by Leslie Change - she literally glowed with gorgeous natural makeup by team Andrea Amez and Paige Marton. Did I mention the florals?? Inner Bloom Floral Design’s creations we fresh and fun- organic and all of greenery but with pops of bright sunset colors.

Full of Heart

To top it off they had a RAGER of a party rocked by none other than LA LA Band. Live music always has a way of getting the party going- add a Second Line to the mix and BAM you have a recipe for memories for a lifetime. If you do nothing else scroll to the bottom and check out the dancing in the streets!
